Y'all out here Googling symptoms like:
"Why can't I remember what I walked into this room for?" That's not anxiety, baby. That's being 45.
"I don't want to go anywhere or see anybody." That's not depression. That's a Saturday. And you've EARNED it. 🛋️
"I keep losing my train of thought mid-sentence and—" ...Wait, what was I saying? See?! It's already happening. 🚂💨
"I have sudden mood swings." No, you don't. Somebody just chewed too loud near you. That's REASONABLE.
"I talk to myself all the time now." That's not a disorder. That's the only way to have an intelligent conversation some days. 🗣️👏
"I cry for no reason." Ma'am… your knees just cracked getting off the couch. That's a valid reason.
Listen — Mental Health is REAL. Take it seriously this May. Check on your people. Talk to someone. It's okay to not be okay.
BUT ALSO…
Some of y'all don't have a mental health crisis. You have a BIRTHDAY crisis. 🎂😂 April gave you a new age and May gave you a diagnosis. Calm down.
You're not losing your mind. You're just losing your reading glasses. Again. For the third time today. 👓
Take care of your mental health. Take care of your physical health. And for the love of God… take care of your knees. They're not coming back.
Laughing through it all — because comedy IS therapy. Mary Boyce Comedy
